Calendar of Events
A wide array of evening and weekend events are offered throughout the year for
children, adults, and families,
including the American Heritage Festival,
the "Chili" Winter Evening and Sleigh Ride
and the Wildflower Weekend.
Schedule of upcoming events in June and July 2008:
- June 21, 8-10pm - Summer Solstice
Explore the science and cultural meaning behind the longest day of the year. Enjoy night time exploratin of Woldumar's
trails. $2 per person; $1 Woldumar members
- June 22, 2-3pm - Herb Garden Seminar - "Sage Advice"
Sample a variety of herbal teas. Participants will use plants from the garden to make tea bags. Sage will be the
featured herb. $7.50 per class; $5 Woldumar members
- June 23-27, 9am-4pm - "Under Our Feet"
Explore the underground wonderland. Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12; Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6
- June 23-27, 9am-4pm - Counselor-In-Training - Orientation
Get to know fellow CITs while exploring Woldumar and beginning a stewardship project. This three-week program offers youth
aged 13-15 leadership training, boosts confidence, and builds life skills while having fun in a day camp environment.
- June 26, 5:30 pm - Board Meeting
All Woldumar Board Members are required to attend.
- June 30 - July 3, 9am-4pm - "Wild Child"
Wilderness survival, overnight on Wednesday for campers ages 7+. Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12;
Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6.
- July 2, 6:30-8:00pm - Mid Michigan Photography Club Meeting
Shutterbugs are welcome to attend! Meetings are held in the RE Olds Anderson Rotary Barn.
- July 7-11, 9am-4pm - "Blast From the Past"
Find out what life was like for our ancestors. Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12;
Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6.
- July 9, 7-8 pm - Herb Garden Seminar - "Lovely Lavender"
Make a lavender wand and learn how to use lavender in a variety of other ways. $7.50 per class, $5.00 Woldumar members.
- July 14-18, 9am-4pm - "Nature Detectives"
What mysteries does nature hold? Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12; Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6.
- July 19, 12-4pm - Boating Bonanza and Water Festival
Explore the Grand River and all it has to offer. Poontoon boat eco-tours, canoes in the lagoon, watery games.
Suggested donation $5 per person, $3 Woldumar members.
- July 21-25, 9am-4pm - "Wet and Wild"
Be sure to bring your swinsuit! Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12; Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6
- July 27, 2-3pm - Herb Garden Seminar - "Comforting Comfrey"
Learn how to make salves using herbs from the garden. Participants wil take home a sample slave and,
if they would like, a comfrey plant for their garden. $7.50 per class, $5.00 Woldumar memers.
- July 28-August 1, 9am-4pm - "Fur, Scales, and Slime"
Live mammal, fish, reptile, and amphibian study. Camp Discovery full day, ages 5-12;
Camp Discovery Junior half day, ages 4-6.
