COVID-19 Update:

As we are all forced to adapt to a "new normal," our camp experience will be a bit different from what we had planned.  The most likely changes are detailed below:

>       We are planning activities that maintain safe physical distance, eliminate interaction between groups, and limit the sharing of supplies among group members.

>       We will enforce strict hygiene and sanitation protocol among staff and campers.

>      Campers will be required to wear masks under certain circumstances.

>       Campers will be subject to a daily health screening including temperature checks.

>       We will not be able to offer before or after camp extended care.

For more information see our Covid-19 Preparedness and Response Plan.

If camp sessions are canceled for health and safety reasons as directed by local, state, or national health officials, full refunds will be issued, including deposits.  If you are in need of financial assistance due to the COVID-19 outbreak, please complete a scholarship request.

For over 50 years, Camp Discovery has given Lansing area youth the opportunity to explore and discover the natural world in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment!

We follow MI LARA's Guidelines for Camps During Covid-19. This includes daily health screenings and masks at all times while indoors/outdoors within 3ft.

Get up and get outside! Come and join Woldumar’s staff on one or all of our fun-filled Winter Break Camp sessions. Campers will experience and experiment outside every day so that there are no “cabin fever” complaints.

All of Woldumar's programs are led by experienced camp counselors and naturalists who are certified in CPR and First Aid and trained in environmental science education.

Open to children grades K-6. Please remember to dress for the weather as we will be outside every day.

Scholarships are available!

On December 20-23 & 27-30, we offer full winter camp days from 9 am-4 pm.

 Week 1.

Seasonal Science

Come and celebrate the changing of the seasons with us. We will begin our week by enjoying the last day of fall and cozying up with some winter wonders.

Spring forward through the week as we finish up by reminiscing about those sunny summer days. We will explore what makes each season unique and how the Earth’s revolution around the sun effects.

Week 2.

Survival Studies

How does life survive the winters of Woldumar? Winter can be cold and brutal with the lack of sunshine and available food. We will investigate how animals keep warm and store resources.

Campers will practice building shelters and learn how to start a campfire. We’ll fire up the wood burning stove and explore how settlers survived during the cold winter months.
